I'm very pleased to have been asked to write a novel on the theme of Hidden Stratford, for the Stratford upon Avon Literary Festival. I'm blogging about the writing process here: http://hiddenstratfordbook.wordpress.com/

The novel is called The World Turned Upside Down, and it's a time-slip story that moves bewteen the future (2042), and the past (1642), just after Edgehill, the first battle of the Civil War - that'swhat  the battlefield of Edgehill looks like now, in the photo just below. It is about 10 miles from Stratford on Avon.

In both times, two Stratford teenagers are caught up in conflict and war, but they realise that they are connected by  a magic that bridges time.

Below is a picture of Clopton Bridge in Stratford - it dates from 1480 and was the main road into the town. It was partly blown up by the King's army in 1643.

Here's a link to the Los Angeles Times which mentions it (yes, I know, it is a bit far from Stratford on Avon! But how exciting to get a mention over there!)
